Better for Them
At Drumhiller Farms, cattle live out their days in the pasture with access to fresh, clean water (on a breezy day, our fully-operational windmill does all the work). They are never dry-lotted, nor do they receive grain (or soy), antibiotics, growth hormones or steroids. That’s because we know the way in which cattle are raised has a direct effect on the cattle and the environment.
Better for You
Raising cattle the natural way has a direct effect on the nutrient-quality of the beef. As it turns out, not all beef is equal when it comes to your health. Compared with conventional grain-fed beef, grass-fed beef is: leaner, has an omega ratio of 3:1, higher in key vitamins and antioxidants and higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). In addition to being healthier, our beef is exceptionally flavorful, tender and juicy.
Better for Nature
By implementing rotational grazing practices we are mimicking the same grazing patterns of wild ruminants like the buffalo that helped create some of the most fertile land in the world. Grazing in herds, our cattle quickly move from one part of pasture to the next, eating the most nutritious parts of forage while supplying an even deposit of fertilizer. This is increasing the long-term health of our pastures both above and below ground.

How It’s Raised Matters
The practices used to raise cattle have an obvious and direct impact on the animals, environment and quality of food. It just makes sense: cattle raised naturally in harmony with their design results in better quality beef. When it comes to the well-being of you and your family, 100% grass-fed beef is a healthier, more delicious and nutrient-dense choice than conventional grain-fed beef.
